Diagnosing and fixing problems with tanks, baffles, lids, pipes and pumps.
People in Belleview usually look for septic repair because of broken baffles, cracked lids, failed pumps or damaged lines between the house and the drain field. Belleview lies inside FDEP's Silver and Rainbow springs plan area, where any new septic system without sewer access must remove at least 65% of nitrogen, regardless of lot size. Compare 9 septic companies serving Belleview and ask each one what exactly failed, whether the repair needs a permit and who will apply for it.
Belleview's median home was built in 1985, and septic systems from that era can need parts replaced: baffles, lids, filters or the pump in a pump tank.

Florida law requires a permit to repair a septic system, though the septic rule does not count pumping, a broken-lid replacement or a like-for-like pump swap as a repair. For homes in Belleview, septic permits come from Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Onsite Sewage Program (Marion County) (850-245-8362). Since July 1, 2025, Florida DEP issues septic permits in Marion County directly; the county health department no longer does. Applications go through DEP's online portal at ostds.floridadep.gov.
